Hi & Welcome!
I'm Sami Jo Catalena

I’d like to start by introducing myself. In April of 2018 I married the kindest, most supportive man ever, Clay; together we have our sweet dog, Peanut. Clay also gifted me with two beautiful steppies, Kember and Hays. I also have the privilege of being “Aunt SJ” to 9 nieces and nephews! If you know me, there’s no hiding the fact that my family is my rock and totally where my roots are. My parents have taught me the value of hard work and to be a good, humble, honest and friendly human being. I find serenity in the simple things like spending time with my family, a country cruise through the pastures looking at the cows, rock hunting for petrified wood, a glass of wine paired with a home-cooked meal, or just snuggling up on our couch with Clay and Peanut.

 

In my “off time”, which of course doesn’t happen often enough, I love a good junk hunt through an estate sale or thrift shop. I’m always hunting for anything primitive like milk glass, quilts, vintage cooking gadgets, enamel flower pins & earrings, and an all time favorite, vinyl LP records. Most days you can find me at Texas Rose Boutique & Catalena Hatters, or somewhere down the road set up at an event! Doing the pop up/road shows allows my "gypsy" side to play because we’re staying in our camper and I get to investigate new places and things. All of these shenanigans are possible because my “real job” so to speak, is managing the boutique since 2018.

 

During my time here I have really been able to find my passion for helping people look and feel beautiful. For those of you that know me, I’m sure you are wondering how color analysis and personal styling became my passion. I was actually bitten by this bug when I was about 9 years old! I all started when I entered my county's 4-H Fashion Show. We were all clueless as to what a color analyst even was, but our 4H county agent scheduled a lady to speak to us before the competition. She gave a short lesson on color and how it can enhance your appearance in both positive and negative ways. As a child, and especially as an adult, I have loved experimenting with patterns and colors trying to find a coordinating happy place in my outfit.

As a recent graduate of Shari Braendel’s Style by Color Academy and Christian Image Consulting Academy, I am ready to introduce my new company, “The Color Cowgirl”. I am excited to share my knowledge and passion with others who are also ready to look and feel their very best!

 

I’ll show you how to dress to impress leaving people turning heads!

Do you know you actually have a body type? I’ll show you how to factor in dressing it!

The question is… which accessories are best, what shades of make-up, these shoes or those, should your hair be all natural or have some color, and last but certainly not least what’s YOUR personal style??

 

It can get so overwhelming, but don’t worry because I am here to help! I want nothing more than for you to look and feel great so all can witness your personal style shine. I’m here for your personal shopping adventures and even closet edits. Seriously, whatever your fashion concerns might be, I am your girl!
